Good luck Vasily, show them all, we also know chess :)

It was a surreal experience playing the top seed today. We have a really young team this year - Siddharth helpfully pointed out that Singapore would apparently have the youngest line up in the entire Olympiad if a certain old fogey on board 4 wasn’t in the team.
(пропускаю)
In the end, we lost 4-0 deservedly to the mighty American team. But this is exactly what we, and every other team in this competition should be striving for. To prove ourselves against the best, to be competitive with top players, enjoy the experience and learn more about ourselves.
Exactly 30 years ago, Singapore was also in the limelight in the first round of the 1994 Moscow Chess Olympiad. The Singaporean team then had the privilege of facing an all star Russian team with an imposing line up of Kasparov, Kramnik, Bareev, Dreev, Tiviakov and Svidler.
Kasparov and Kramnik promptly sat out - a costly mistake as Hsu Li Yang, then the Singapore top player, managed to secure a famous draw against Evgeny Bareev.
Dr. Hsu went on to become an incredibly successful infectious disease physician and is also the current President of the Singapore Chess Federation. He might well ask the old fogey to retire for the next Olympiad.
Canada, seeded 50th, delivered an upset by drawing 2-2 with tournament’s #6 Norway. Former U18 World Champion Shaun Rodrigue-Lemieux (2509) won one of the longest games of the round against Johan-Sebastian Christiansen (2661) on board one. The absence of team leader Magnus Carlsen negatively impacted Norway, despite them being approximately 100 rating points favorites on each board.
